SKIN  - INTIMATE METROPOLIS

Skin is our connection to the world. It is our instrument through which we perceive the environment around us. Thousands and thousands of microscopic cells enable us to sense different sorts of stimuli so we can feel cold or warm, wet or dry, smooth or rough. Even though we are able to perceive rain as wet and the moisture of a snowflake, our outer shell is waterproof. We can stretch our skin, but it is elastic and goes back to its original shape leaving little marks as a reminder. Skin does not only protect us from danger, it also alerts us of it through sensation. As we grow up and get older the texture of our skin changes and shows marks of the events in our lives. Standing next to somebody might be enough to tell their little secrets.

Shiver, blush, sweat - our skin doesn’t lie.
